Looking out of your plane window is your first glimpse of what is in store for you once you arrive in Turks and Caicos. If you’re like us, the view will take your breath away as you gaze at the endless sandy beaches and the stunning turquoise waters of Providenciales. The world-famous Grace Bay Beach offers miles of powdery white sand for you to enjoy long walks up and down the strip from your resort or hotel. However, Grace Bay Beach is not the only stunning Caribbean setting for you to enjoy,  there are countless exquisite beaches to visit on Turks and Caicos, from dreamy sunbathing spots, to tranquil bays perfect for swimming and rocky coves ideal for exploring. Below we’ve selected our favorite beaches in Providenciales.

Providenciales

Sapodilla Bay

This is a shallow, sandy bay that’s ideal for small children and is located in the Chalk Sound area of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Situated on the south side of the island, the Sapodilla Bay area is nestled between the azure waters of the Atlantic and a beautiful blue lagoon.

Grace Bay Turks and Caicos Providenciales

Grace Bay Beach

This gorgeous spot has been named the World Travel Awards ‘World’s Leading Beach’ for four years running and last year was declared the world’s No. 1 beach, according to TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards. The stretch of fine sand starts in the island town of Leeward and runs 12 miles to Thompson Cove. Belonging to the Princess Alexandra National Park, Grace Bay Beach offers tranquility and nature-friendly water sports. Sailing, catamarans, and snorkeling are all encouraged, but water skis and jet skis are off-limits. Grace Bay Beach offers fantastic snorkeling – Smith’s Reef and Bight Reef are a must-do!

Cooper Jack Turks and Caicos Providenciales

Cooper Jack and Delou’s Beach

Located on the south shores of Providenciales, small sandy bays create pocket beaches rimmed by dramatic rock ledges and cliffs. These secluded beaches are perfect for an afternoon picnic or barbecue. There’s even a crusty pirate in a cave along one of the bluffs.

Northwest Point Turks and Caicos Providenciales

Northwest Point

The beaches of Northwest Point stretch for six miles around this wild and deserted peninsula. White sandy bays are interspersed with rocky shores. This is a great spot for long hikes and beachcombing. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is essential for this excursion!

Pelican Beach

Good beachcombing, white sand, clear water, and interesting rocky outcroppings characterize this beach.

Long Bay Beach Turks and Caicos Providenciales

Long Bay Beach

There are a number of access points to this three-mile beach along the Long Bay Beach Road. This is a very secluded and quiet beach with only a few scattered houses. The water is shallow and there are many conch shells. Beach type footgear is in order. A perfect spot to view the top kiteboarders in the world.

Providenciales Turks and Caicos

Leeward Beach

Positioned on the northeast end of Providenciales, Leeward Beach is one of the finest beaches in the Turks and Caicos. The coast is adjacent to and continues east from where Grace Bay Beach ends. It’s the perfect place to take a dip – general swimming conditions are excellent!

Blue Hills Beach

Turn right at the roundabout at the entrance to downtown, then take your first right onto Blue Hills Road. Take your pick of places to stop anywhere on this road. You are seconds from the beach and there are several popular beachfront restaurants and bars in the area.

Malcolm’s Road Beach

On the west side of Provo, just south of Northwest Point, is a breathtaking beach that’s more than worth the drive. Take the Millennium Highway, then go left at the sign for Northwest Point Resort/Canterbury. Continue beyond the turnoff to Amanyara Resort.

South Caicos

Half Moon Bay

One of the most breathtaking beaches in the Turks and Caicos Islands reachable by boat only. It is located right next to Providenciales and is about a five minute boat ride from Blue Haven Marina located in the Leeward area. Also home to our indigenous iguana population which makes it an extra special stop.

Best beaches on the Sister Islands

Take the ferry to North Caicos and visit Sandy Point Beach or Horsestable Beach. From there drive to Middle Caicos, over the causeway, and visit Bambarra Beach, which is truly spectacular and great for kids and adults. It is shallow and has plenty of shade. Middle Caicos is also home to perhaps the most spectacular sweep of beach in the country, at Mudjin Harbour, on the north coast.

All the Caicos Cays have broad swaths of pristine sand along their west coasts. Any of the watersports companies will carry you to one of them. On Grand Turk, the entire west coast is pretty much gorgeous strands of pristine sand, but Waterloo, by the Governor’s Mansion, is very special.

Salt Cay’s northwest coast, home of the now-closed Windmills Plantation Resort, is famous to those who know the island, but any beach on Salt Cay is worth its ‘weight in salt.’ South Caicos’ many beaches, including One Mile Beach and Highland Crescent Beach on the east coast, are spectacular and now quite easily accessible thanks to TCI Ferry’s service to that island.
