2. Calypso Grill

Undoubtedly a must-visit on anyone’s list of things to do in Cayman, Calypso Grill boasts legendary views overlooking the ocean at Morgan’s Harbour in West Bay. The quaint and rustic venue has chickens in the yard and décor that is a reflection of its location – bright and airy and Caribbean through and through. But it’s really the cuisine, created by Chef George, which will make anyone a repeat visitor after just one bite. Must-tries on the menu include the crab cakes, home-made pâté, house salad, and sticky toffee pudding, all of which are Chef George’s signature, not to mention his famous Snapper Monte Carlo. After dinner enjoy a relaxing stroll out on the dock to take in the sea air and wonder at the beauty of this spot.

3. Catch

The second restaurant opened by friends Walter Fajette and Cristiano Vincentini, Catch is positioned overlooking the waterfront in Morgan’s Harbour. Its spacious outdoor patios allow for relaxed dining on sumptuous seafood prepared by Chef Jon. Dine on fresh Catch ceviche, complete with pickled spiced onions, jicama, scallion and oranges for an appetiser and maybe Crispy Trigger – fried crispy triggerfish, escovitch, Creole whipped potatoes and tartar sauce for mains. Meat eaters are treated to such delights as Oxtail Ravioli – braised jerk oxtail, butterbean puree, and tomato pepper jam. Sunday brunch is proving particularly popular at Catch. Don’t miss their incredible Tiki cocktails and delicious brunch specialities such as lobster Benedict, home-smoked salmon Benedict or porchetta Benedict (eggs Benedict will never be the same again!). Or why not try their bread pudding French toast, with a warm berry compote and vanilla Bourbon caramel.

4. The Lighthouse

It’s worth traveling a little further afield just to try out the magnificent Lighthouse restaurant and gift shop, which is actually a former lighthouse and an iconic figure at Breakers, just past Bodden Town. Let the effervescent owner Giuseppe, otherwise known as Captain G, welcome you for your dining experience and enjoy wonderful homemade dishes such as Pirates Seafood Linguine and Lobster Tail-on Ravioli, as well as delicious bread and desserts. Sunday brunch is a real winner – menu highlights include their raw bar of mussels, lush salads, and chocolate cake. Enjoy breathtaking ocean views in a gorgeous, relaxed setting – a truly memorable experience.
