By Kerry Biddle on 8th September, 2015

Simpson Bay, St Maarten – September 8, 2015 – Aqua Mania Adventures will be actively involved in generating awareness for Breast Cancer during the whole month of October by taking part in several organized events and by organizing its own, the Pink Sunset Sail on October 1st, 2015. This one of a kind event will function not only as an awareness event, but also as a fundraiser. Proceeds will go to the Positive and Elektralyets Foundations to help continue their quest to raise Breast Cancer Awareness on the island of St. Maarten and other future projects and activities. The Elektralyets and Positive Foundations have organized a series of event for the Month of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and have teamed up with several businesses in the community to help raise funds and awareness.

Aqua Mania Adventures organizes a Pink Sunset Sail in support of Breast Cancer with the Positive & Elektralyets Foundation

The Pink Sunset Sail will take place on October 1st, 2015 and departs at 5.30pm from the marina in Simpson Bay Resort where Aqua Mania Adventures is located. The company made Lambada and Tango, 65’ sailing catamarans, available for a coastal sail into the sunset, allowing 140 people to be part of this unique event.

Tickets are for sale at $40pp, which includes a unique Pink T-shirt, a Pink Lemonade mimosa, open bar, snacks and a wonderful sail along St. Maarten’s golden coastline, sightseeing, sipping cocktails and watching the green flash. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Positive and Elektralyets Foundations to support their programs regarding breast cancer. Tickets can be bought at Aqua Mania Adventures locations in Simpson Bay Resort, with Eugene at Divi Little Bay, directly online or at the activity desks for hotel guests.

Fabulous boat trips is what Aqua Mania Adventures is famous for, so they took things a step further and organized a raffle which takes place during the Pink Sunset Sail. With the assistance of local businesses, such as of Penha, UTS, Keijzer Computer Systems and Splash Jewelers, who generously donated fantastic prizes, Aqua Mania Adventures created a fundraising opportunity which will increase the total proceeds for the Foundations.

Aqua Mania Adventures’ Michele Korteweg is excited to organize a fundraiser event that creates awareness for such an important cause. “Breast cancer affects so many people, not just women, as entire families are devastated by this disease. By creating awareness and raising funds for the local foundations, we support the local community with free screenings and education, hopefully emphasizing the importance of having yourself checked as early detection saves lives. It often seems as if there is a taboo on talking about cancer, with a bit of luck an event like our Pink Sunset Sail makes the topic more approachable in an informal and relaxed environment.”

Celebrity guests Elektra and Soc will be on the boats as hosts, providing information about Breast Cancer Programs available on the island and basic information about the impact of Breast Cancer on individuals and families.

With a 90 minute beautiful sunset sail, celebrity hosts, and the chance to win fabulous prizes, the Pink Sunset Sail is guaranteed to be a successful kickoff fundraising event of the Breast Cancer Awareness month on the 1st of October. Aqua Mania Staff will show their support with “Fridays in Pink” for the whole month of October, hoping that many other companies will follow suit.
