Pointe Baptiste

Pointe Baptiste is a golden sandy beach surrounded by cliffs of red sandstone and rocks. The beach is located in the village of Calibishie and is great for families to visit. Pointe Baptiste is a quiet beach giving the whole family a chance to relax, sunbathe or have a swim in the warm waters.

Whilst kicking back and relaxing, you will see the different rock formations and coconut trees around you. The beach also offers a sense of peace and tranquility for those who want to meditate. Point Baptiste holds an interesting story behind the name, as it was initially a pirate hangout ground. The beach is also close to the Chocolate Factory which is great to visit on your trip here too.

Champagne Beach

Champagne Beach is named after the gas bubbles that rise from the volcanic floor to the water’s surface. Rich in marine life, the beach is a popular diving and snorkeling spot. Secluded and kid-friendly, Champagne beach is a great place for the whole family. The sand on Champagne Beach is black from lava, and you can access the reef from shore. Batibou Beach

This north coast beach is featured in the blockbuster movie Pirates of the Caribbean and is very popular with tourists. The sea here is calm enough for swimming and the green mountains in the backdrop complement the serene tropical paradise. The surrounding land is privately owned and you may need to pay $5 on entry, which goes towards beach maintenance. Batibou Bar and Grill offers a relaxed setting for a delicious meal. Enjoy the traditional Caribbean cuisine with a serving of rum punch here.

Purple Turtle Beach

Purple Turtle Beach is located in the northern part of Dominica and is known for being one of the best beaches. The beach is 3 km of fluffy light brown sand surrounded by crystal clear waters. To the left of the beach lies Prince Rupert Bay where you will see many anchored yachts and to the right, you will see the beautiful hills of Cabrits National Park. 

The beach is ideal for fun beach parties, swimming, and cozy beach picnics under the sun. Local bands often play music concerts here and you can get involved in fun water sports like jet skiing and kayaking. The beach has a few bars and beach restaurants, so you can enjoy the local cuisines and fresh fish caught that day.

Toucari Beach

Toucari Beach is located in a small fishing village on the northwest coast of Dominica. On the beach, you will see the dark soft sand with green cliffs and aquamarine waters. This Caribbean beach has the best spots for snorkeling on the island and offers sights of coral formations and sponges. This underwater world offers opportunities to see Caribbean reef squid, sea urchins, and sea turtles! This quiet beach also has incredible underwater bubbles and you will have a chance to see the boulder caves in the water.
