Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day; probably that’s why so many restaurants in Cayman take breakfast and brunch very seriously!
Just across from the Westin Resort lies Eats restaurant located in The Falls shopping centre, a family-friendly American diner that is a huge hit for breakfast in particular. Omelettes, pancakes or a full fry-up, eggs any which way you choose, Eats has it all. Generous portions mean full stomachs ‘til lunchtime! These are the reasons why people often start queuing to dine at this highly popular restaurant.
Coconut Joe’s is a relaxed hang out that serves up well-priced breakfast nestled among the trees in a cool spot right on West Bay Road, just opposite the Comfort Suites. Enjoy the outdoors location, varied breakfast menu and friendly atmosphere.
eggs benedict @ Cimboco
Cimboco has to be up there among breakfast favourites for locals and an amazing find for visitors. Situated in the Marquee Plaza just off Seven Mile Beach, Cimboco will welcome you with rustic Caribbean charm as Bob Marley songs lilt in the background and the warming smiles of waitress Angela entice you in. Portions are plentiful and beautifully presented. Enjoy a layering of cinnamon-flavoured granola and yoghurt served with fresh fruit or eggs Benedict served with a hollandaise with a kick!
The Waterfront in Camana Bay is a great spot for breakfast – it’s chic, relaxed, with an urban-diner feel and has a great menu that includes lots of good healthy choices, such as home-made honey granola, fruit and berry bowls and halved fresh grapefruit, along with great egg dishes and even a breakfast burger.
Brunch is a regular Sunday occurrence for many on-island. Luca’s brunch is a winner, a hit with the young, in-crowd; it offers everything you want in a good brunch – bubbly that’s as free flowing as the conversation, a great selection of buffet-style dishes and a gorgeous location.
If you feel like splurging don’t miss The Ritz-Carlton’s brunch at its Seven restaurant – its everything you want in a brunch – fine dining buffet style, excellent unlimited Champagne and attentive service.
The Westin’s Ferdinand’s brunch is one of the best, located overlooking a fine stretch of Seven Mile Beach. Enjoy unending glasses of bubbly along with succulent seafood, freshly made salads, breakfast dishes, entrees with a Caribbean flair and desserts lovingly created with care and attention. Chef’s stations are dotted around the restaurant so you can enjoy a pasta dish, stir fry or omelette, all cooked individually, with your choice of ingredients and to your exact specifications.
If you are looking for something a little different in your Sunday brunch, Agua in the Galleria Plaza (the “blue” plaza) on the West Bay Road, not only offers fantastic seafood dishes, all its cuisine is infused with a melting pot of flavours as their chefs come from a broad range of nations, including Italy, Peru, Mexico, Spain and India. Lively and fashionable, Agua is a real winner.
