CAMANA BAY, Cayman Islands (February 1, 2013) – In order to experience the sophistication of Grand Cayman, one doesn’t have to spend a fortune. Located steps from Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach is Camana Bay, a lively town which has quickly become a favorite gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

At the heart of Camana Bay is a bustling Town Centre that offers world-class shopping and dining, unique attractions such as the island’s only cinema and a 75-foot observation tower, beautifully landscaped open spaces for fun in the sun and a full calendar of family friendly events. If you have yet to discover Camana Bay, the below is a snapshot of some of the fun, free things you can discover, and be part of, in the Town Centre.

Story Time for Kids

Gather the family for Story Time every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Books & Books. Wednesdays are perfect for infants and toddlers with bright picture books, singing and dancing, while Saturdays are geared towards ages 4 to 7 and include a creative craft. Story Time is also a great social event for parents.

Interactive Fountains

Let the kids loose in one of the interactive fountains. In Jasmine Court, playful water spurts mingle with color delighting tots and toddlers. Further down The Paseo on The Crescent, dancing waters with skyward bursts reaching 30-feet thrill brave youngsters.

Camana Way

Take a stroll or ride a bike through Camana Way and reconnect with nature. This 30-foot wide landscaped boulevard originates near Seven Mile Beach and is populated with more than 100 different native and indigenous plant species. Along the route leading from West Bay Road to the Town Centre is a botanical journey through five of Grand Cayman’s distinct ecosystems.

Farmers’ Market

Explore the stalls of fresh fruits and vegetables, handmade crafts and local food at the Farmers’ Market. This weekly community event brings local vendors together every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. to offer visitors a real taste of Cayman.

The Observation Tower

For a bird’s-eye view of Grand Cayman, make your way to the 75-foot tall observation tower. The entire family will be enchanted with the journey to the top via a double helix staircase that climbs alongside a floor to ceiling mosaic depicting Cayman’s beautiful reefs and marine life.

The Island

Discover a castaway quay in Camana Bay’s Harbour with soft white sands, shady palm trees, gentle sea breezes and swinging hammocks. The Island is a perfect place to relax, picnic and take in the spectacular views of the Town Centre.

Poof the Blue Dragon

While on The Island, snap a picture with Poof the Blue Dragon. Part of the Blue Dragon Trail, Poof is one of fifteen larger than life sculptures of the endangered Blue Iguana located around Grand Cayman. Pick up a Blue Dragon Trail map from The Discovery Centre and visit them all.

Imagination Playground

Made up of loose parts—giant foam blocks, mats, wagons, fabric and crates—Imagination Playground offers a changing array of elements that allow children to create their own unique play experience. Kids can dream, build and explore endless possibilities every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on The Crescent.

With shopping, dining, activities, attractions and events all at your fingertips, spending quality family time is fun and easy at Camana Bay. For a full listing of shopping, dining and entertainment options at Camana Bay, visit camanabay.com.
