By Tristan Ralston on 1st March, 2016
St.Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, February 29, 2016 – If you are a parent with athletes ages 13-17 who want to improve their volleyball skills this summer and not have to leave island, then Island Vibes Summer Camp may be right for you. It is the goal of IVSC to first provide our campers with world-class coaches who can help them develop both as athletes and people. Dr. Gylton DaMatta has coached volleyball for 30 years and has worked with players in the US, Argentina, Spain, Denmark and his home country of Brazil, just to name a few. He looks forward to working with your child at Island Vibes to take their game to another level. During his career, Dr. DaMatta, game analyst and expert consultant, has earned two (2) national titles in addition to having written for several publications on skills development, the impact of rules change in practice and the role of technology and visual feedback as best practices throughout the sports.
Island Vibes Summer Camp’s 3-week summer program runs from June 13 to July 2, 2016 and will be located at the University of the Virgin Islands. Camp tuition covers your child’s room, three (3) meals daily, all field trips and adventures, transportation and camp gear. Registration closes May 1st. In addition to volleyball, IVSC will offer programs in soccer, baseball, basketball, golf and tennis. “This is an opportunity for serious Virgin Islands athletes to get the attention and competition they need to reach the next level right at home. Visiting campers will get to explore our culture while discovering what makes this such a great travel destination. Our focus won’t just be on athletic development but on the potential social development you can expect from attending a camp with children from all over the world.” Chantel Hoheb, Assistant Camp Director, Island Vibes Summer Camp.
